the Dutch mudflats is known as ‘het Waddengebied’. A coastal area in the north with large differences in tides (up to a few meters). Once an important means of transportation, the traditional flatbottom ships can handle both high an low tides and are still being used today. I can’t explain the experience better than just by these photographs.
