15 minutes of flames

This is a series of panoramic images captured in the Puna de Atacama, just outside Tolar Grande in Salta Province, Argentina. Shot with the Fuji G617 panoramic camera on both Velvia and Portra film, the series captures the fleeting intensity of light as it sweeps across the desert mountains at sunset. Driving alongside this rugged range, the light transformed with astonishing speed, forcing rapid adjustments of film and exposure, it was sort of a race to keep up with the landscape itself.

The resulting panoramas convey the dramatic and transient nature of this moment. Together, the images evoke the tension and beauty of an environment in constant flux, where fifteen minutes of light can transform the landscape entirely, leaving only the photographs as testament to a brief, almost cinematic experience.
