This series of images focuses on the Carel Coenraadpolder, in the northern part of Groningen province. A landscape defined by openness and emptiness. Vast stretches of reclaimed land stretch to the horizon, largely flat and uninterrupted, with only a few solitary trees punctuating the space. These isolated trees become focal points in the landscape, emphasizing both scale and solitude. The provence of Groningen is this unique place of former wetlands that has been reclaimed from the sea.
