Urban Coral is a photo series centered on the Suikerunie terrain in Groningen, a former industrial site that has been reimagined as a vibrant space for creativity. Once dedicated solely to production, the raw factories and warehouses now provide an unusual and inspiring canvas for autonomous individuals and collectives.

The series captures how these open spaces have sparked a proliferation of ideas, installations, and uses, much like coral structures growing organically in the cracks and contours of an unexpected environment. Artists, makers, and independent thinkers move freely through the terrain, reshaping it with energy and imagination. Urban Coral explores the interplay between the industrial past and contemporary creativity, highlighting how abandoned spaces, when left open to initiative, can transform into living, dynamic ecosystems of human activity.
